Can you do the calculations for how long I would have to live to listen--even once through--to 20TB of music?  24/7/365 and I'd still probably be 95 before I got to the last tracks. Maybe if they are stored as DSD65536!

Well, think about it this way, Chris has let's say for arguments-sake, 100 Atmos lps (no idea how many he has, just a wild underestimation. 🤣 Say ,10 songs per lp and each song on average is 1.5 - 2 GB in size. That is 2000 GB in all. So, yeah I can see it.

My sister took it upon herself to digitze the thousands of photos my Parents had taken over the years and I put them on my old TrueNAS miniXL. Via the magic of an SMB share, my Moms screensaver on her iMac is every single photo ever taken by her or my Dad. She absolutely loves it and it nearly is 20,000 photos. Also, thanks to ZFS will last essentially, forever.

edit: also I and my wife use this app, and I set it up for my Mom. It automatically loads any new photos onto the TrueNAS for her. I don't use iCloud anymore.

edit 2: Because I use TrueNAS it can be set to automagically backup to Backblaze B2 which I think is far superior to iCloud.

I would store everything as AIFF and not flac ;-)
