What's with this checkmark?

I have just noticed this checkmark next to my album cover.  It is on every album in this library, my two other libraries do not have it.  What does it mean?

It means you've downloaded the track/album.

Are you sure?

I understood it to mean that the track/album was selected for the next action—play, copy, etc.

Albums I have listed, even when loaded from other sources still have ticks.

Ahhh, a confusion Steve Jobs would never have allowed. Apple Music is both computer app and a streaming service.

I was referring to the computer app.
