https://vinylcommunitypodcasts.podbean.com/e/concert-buddie-mind-of-the-record-collector-patrick-pbthal/ Just came across an interesting podcast about Patrick from California, aka the vinly.archivist (https://www.instagram.com/the.vinyl.archivist/ ) and also known as PBTHAL (the real or who knows …) In a recent review / comparison of the newly published “Stop Making Sense” reissue from the Talking Heads, Darko.audio has digged into the qualities of “vinyl rips done right” comparing them to the digital sources readily available on the market of that mastering. An interview with Patrick, the vinyl archivist, who owns the youtube channel @pbthal (https://www.youtube.com/@pbthal) was announced, however, until now it wasn’t published. (edit: see the Instagram info at the end) Meanwhile, the Concert Buddie YT & Podcast (https://www.youtube.com/@ConcertBuddie) has published a very recent interview with the master of Vinyl Done Right through the Vinyl Community Podacst: https://vinylcommunitypodcasts.podbean.com/e/concert-buddie-mind-of-the-record-collector-patrick-pbthal/ In roughly an hour, Patrick speaks about his recent system for his living room (KEF R3, SCHIIT Vidar, and a Logitech Streamer), his weekly biking schedule and the history of PBTHAL and is own pathway to his record collection, telling some funny anecdotes and a bit about his alter ego as Vinyl Archivist. I am not sure if his work is 100% legal in the US, EUROPE or elsewhere - however his rips are highly regarded from the technical quality standpoint and as an excellent means of preservation (keywords: Universal Studio Fire). You may find loads of discussion about his work chez Reddit or Hoffman. Personally, I would love to see his work be transferred to the Internet Archive, available for lending. Just found the Darko Audio info on his Instagram (not a follower), tagged #pbthal, looks like it is coming soon … So you have the full basket of options, including shying away from the information because PBTHAL’s oeuvre doesn’t suit your values. Have a happy weekend – 2 all of you

Here's an interesting podcast about sound, called Twenty Thousand Hertz (or 20kHz). One interesting episode is about the conversion from analog to digital. https://www.20k.org/ "Did we lose anything when we transitioned from analog to digital? Learn about the Jedi skills old radio DJs had to have to spin vinyl on the radio, and meet a man who’s found himself trapped in a digital world and learn what he does to escape. Featuring Rick Adams and Craig Crane. "

well now, isn’t that special… After clicking the “Share This Via iTunes” (note 1) link on http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=127469&cmd=tc, iTunes app opens to “My Podcasts” (vs. iTunes Store) and displays only one entry for this item advising there are no episodes, or some such. NONE OF MY OTHER THOUSANDS OF PODCASTS APPEAR when “My Podcasts” is selected!!! The same display remains regardless of the dropdown settings for such as Feed, Unplayed, Saved, etc. Same for Library>Stations - only one entry. When I deleted the Talkshoe entry both Library>Podcasts and Library>Stations are now empty, as though I had no podcasts to display. (note 1) see attached image - this is the little iTunes badge commonly used on websites to take you to the iTunes store (or an iTunes web page) listing for their podcast The only way I can see my podcast list is to select a podcast episode from a playlist and Show in Playlist>Podcasts, but at that time the playlist is still selected in the sidebar, when I then select Library>Podcasts or Stations, again, it’s still empty. Switching to other media kinds (Music, Movies, etc) works OK - just Podcasts are affected. I replaced the iTunes Music Library.xml file in my ~/Music/iTunes directory with a backup from several days ago - and the same thing happens. I’ve quit iTunes several times and restarted all to no avail… I went to the iTunes Store and (re)Subscribed to a couple of podcasts I already subscribed to (e.g., The Next Track ). The store evidently didn’t recognize I had already subscribed and let me Subscribe again, whereupon, they show up in Library>Podcasts and Library>Stations per normal. However, all the episodes show as available for download whether they’re already downloaded or not. As you can imagine, I’m pretty flabbergasted by this iTunes ‘feature’ and, while I’ve reported it to Apple via iTunes Feedback, I’m tossing it out here in hopes of finding resolution. Thanks in advance for any assistance resolving this matter
